Ruth is survived by her son, James Brown, grandchildren, Scott Brown, Lisa Hoyte, Eric Brown, Laura Brown, Micheal Bannon, Patrick Bannon, step-grandchildren, Danny Walker, Scott Walker, many great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lelia Jones, father, Samuel Jones, husband, Virgil Jones, daughter, Dianna Brown Bannon, and sister, Treva Ann Hickey.
