Ruth Irene McGee
Ruth Irene McGee, 98 of Tunnelton, died Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Windy Hill Village.
She was born June 29, 1919, in Tunnelton the daughter of the late Walter and Lettie Shannon.
Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother and sister, born, raised and attended school in the #4 community. She worked at the Tunnelton School for 22 years preparing many hot rolls and pepperoni rolls for the children. Her immediate and extended family especially the Shaffer children that grew up next door, were her life.
Ruth is survived by her children, James Donavon Shannon and wife, Betty of Hillsboro, OR and William Francis McGee and wife, Eve of Sevierville, TN; three grandchildren, Don Shannon, Derek McGee and wife, Aly and Mark McGee and wife, Claire; a great grandson, Zackary Shannon and wife, Adalea; four step grandchildren, Richard DeVita, Sandra Gilberto, Judy Amatuzzo and Diana Ragsdale and many loving nieces, nephew and their families.
She was also preceded in death by loving husband, William Francis (Zell) McGee; step children, Dorena (McGee) Proudfoot, Margaret (McGee) DeVita; step grandchild, Franklin Proudfoot; a sister, Ethel Stevens and three brothers, Harold, Charles and John Shannon.
