Ruth Holloway, 73, of Centralia, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
She was born September 17, 1947 in Centralia, the daughter of Michael Zborek and Betty (Huene) Zborek. She married Gary Holloway and he preceded her in death in 1984.
Ruth is survived by her two sons: Chris Holloway and Minga Fontaine of Centralia and Michael Holloway of Centralia; four grandchildren: Covan Bergersen, Zoe Holloway, Elin Fontaine and Mikah Fontaine; a niece: Rhonda Colbert of South Carolina; the Bryan Family of Indiana; best friend: Linda Lehner of Chattanooga, TN; and her ICU Family.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Michael and Betty Zborek, husband: Gary Holloway, and a brother: Ronald Zborek.
Ruth was a graduate of the Centralia High School Class of 1965 and she always looked forward to help plan and attend her class reunions. She achieved a Bachelor Degree in Nursing from Saint Louis University, she worked as a Registered Nurse for 42 years, and for the majority she worked in the ICU at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
Ruth was a member of St. Mary Church in Centralia, where she sang in the Choir and attended a Bible Class. She enjoyed reading and was a member of several book clubs. She enjoyed traveling and going on Bus trips. Most of all, Ruth loved spending time with her sons, grandchildren, family and her many dear friends.
