Ruth Emma Baumann Moore, 104, passed away at her Fremont home on April 13, 2023. She was born April 3, 1919 in Fremont, Ohio. Ruth was the daughter of the late Albert Vogt Baumann II and Carey Shreffler Baumann. Ruth was the older sister to her three siblings Carol B. Kettner, Albert V. Baumann III, and Jacob B. Baumann.

Ruth was a graduate of Fremont Ross High School, Stephens College and the Ohio State University where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. After graduation she worked as a social worker in Cincinnati, Ohio. She married her beloved Leon H. Moore, M.D., August 29, 1941 at the First Presbyterian Church in Fremont, Ohio. They were married for 63 years until his passing in 2004. Ruth loved her family, gardens, music, art, tennis, and golf. She was an accomplished artist in both water color painting and wood carving. With a deep love of the natural world, she enjoyed the birds and wildlife all around her. In 1969, she was voted Mrs. M.D. of Ohio for outstanding doctor’s wife. She was a member of the Fremont Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, PTA, a leader for both Boy Scouts and Camp Fire Girls, DAR, League of Women voters, Cosmopolitan Club, Fremont Country Club, Catawba Island Club, and Port Clinton Yacht Club.

Ruth is survived by her sons; Leon H. Moore Jr. (Dana) of Fort Meyers, Florida, Frank L. Moore II (Kathleen) of Corvallis, Oregon, George B. Moore (Connie) of Fremont, Ohio, John S. Moore (Paula) of Arctic, Washington, and daughter; Carol J. Moore of Fremont, Ohio. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, Brett (Marta), Sonya (Matthew), Erin (Christopher), Jonathan (Sue), Melissa, David (Julie), Monica (Steve), Steven (Emma), and Fred (Britta); and eleven great grandchildren.
