Ruth E. Peters, age 87 of Midland died Friday, December 05, 2014 at her home. The daughter of the late Thomas and Eunice (Martin) Howard was born October 18, 1927 in Wheelersburg, Ohio. Ruth married James W. Peters in Covington, Kentucky on March 23, 1949 and after nearly 56 years of marriage he predeceased her February 4, 2005. Ruth was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a faithful volunteer for 42 years in many roles.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen (James) Robinson of Saginaw and Nancy Baker of Midland; grandchildren, Sherry (Scott) Ravagnie of Huntley, IL, Lindsay (Brent) Ames of Austin, TX, Chris Beaulieu, Midland, MI, Kyle (Allison) Robinson, Houston, TX; great grandchildren, Alex, Arik, and Ian Ravagnie of Huntley, IL, Megan and Madelyn Ames of Austin, TX; brother in law David (Jane) Peters of Columbus, OH; and sister in law, Diane Peters of Columbus, OH. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son Larry Peters, one brother and five sisters.
A Celebration of Ruth’s life will be held December 27, 2014 at 11:00 am from First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dr. J.D. Landis and the Reverend Dr. Charles Keyworth officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service. Ruth’s cremains will be placed in Shrader Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be offered to the First United Methodist Church for the Community Assistance Fund.
