Ruth D. Snyder, 94, of Cogan Station, died peacefully Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Williamsport Home.

Born December 8, 1922 in Muncy Township, she was a daughter of William E. and Julia A (Smithgall) Drick.  She was the widow of Carl W. Snyder who died May 16, 1992 after 48 years of marriage.

Ruth was a 1941 graduate of Muncy High School and attended Dickinson Seminary (now Lycoming College). She was a member of Lycoming Centre Presbyterian Church where she had served as an elder, Sunday School Teacher, and benevolent treasurer. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Sycamore Manor Auxiliary in which she served as president for two years. She enjoyed life on her family farm for over 64 years and found “farm life” very rewarding.

In addition to her husband Ruth was preceded in death by her son Robert W. Snyder who died in 2002, three brothers Charles, Ralph, and George, and a sister Pearl.

Surviving are two grandchildren Amy B. Snyder and David William Snyder both of Columbia, MD,  daughter-in-law Carol Lauch Snyder, great grandson Tannor J. Snyder, and many nieces and nephews.
