Ruth attended High School in Butte, Montana. She then furthered her education at the Kansa State University where she received a degree in education. Ruth went on to teach at the Sunnyside elementary of Kellogg for many years.
Ruth married Ralph E. Joy in August of 1944. Ralph preceded her in death in 1977. Ruth later married John A.
Ruth had a sense of adventure and after retirement decided to peddle her bike with a trailer across all 50 states. It took her nearly three years to accomplish her goal.
Ruth is survived by her two children Betty (Brett) Belisle and Karolyn Red; granddaughter Debbie Miller Mitch, grandson Kenneth W.
At her request she will be cremated and her ashes will be scattered in the Madison River in Montana.
