Ruth Ann “Annie” Myers, 90, passed away with family by her side at York Place, Marion, at 4:01 a.m. Monday.
She was born in Upland the daughter of the late John and Minnie (Moore) Huffman. She was a 1942 graduate of Jefferson Township High School and a birth right Quaker.
Annie married George Myers on August 27, 1945, at Winona Lake, Indiana. He preceded her in death June 30, 2001. A life-long Upland resident, she enjoyed being a homemaker and supporting the Eastbrook School’s athletic events.
She had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1947, was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Upland Chapter 411, and the Upland Historical Society. She also enjoyed supporting her husband in local politics and spending time with family.
Survivors include a son, Ted (Luana) Myers, Indianapolis; two daughters, Marva (Dave) Martz, Upland, Mary Ann (Jim) Meyer, Carmel; five grandchildren: Doug (Angela) Martz, Greg (Josette) Martz, Zach (Heather) Myers, Derek (Cheryl) Myers, Lindsay Meyer; 7 great grandchildren, Blake, Abby, Hannah, Caleb, Jada, Thomas, and Katherine. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Infant Charles and James D. Huffman.
