(nee Benevento) On December 13, 2020 of Newfield. Age 78. Beloved wife of the late Edward A. Leo, Sr. Devoted mother of Edward A. Leo, Jr. (Paula), Renee Van Dine (John), and Joanna A. Dzinski (Robert). Loving grandmother of Renata, Connor, Sophia, Ella, and Luke. Dear sister of Eleanore Benevento.
Ruth Anne was both a family-oriented and God-fearing woman. Her abundant faith in the Lord was evident to everyone she met. She was a Godly woman that displayed His love daily with her selflessness. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her five grandchildren. When her oldest grandchild was too young to pronounce “grandma,” she was lovingly deemed “Gommy,” a title that she loved so much that she encouraged the rest of her grandchildren to use it when they were born.
Gommy was her grandchildren’s best friend and #1 fan. She loved taking them out to breakfast, attending all of their sporting events and school plays, as well as eating at each of their homes. She never missed anything! The grandchildren shared many laughs with their Gommy and have memories of her that will last a lifetime. She enjoyed having the opportunity to watch them complete so many major milestones, and her grandchildren regret that she will miss those to come. Although she was taken from us way too soon, her family knows that she is happier than ever, smiling down on us from heaven with Pop-pop.
