Russell William Lembke
It is with profound sadness we share that Russell William Lembke, 79, of Denver, Colorado passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Swedish Medical Center.
Russ was born on June 12, 1942 in Denver Colorado to Henry Hibbard Lembke and Helen Ruth (Miller) Lembke. The oldest of two children, he grew up enjoying all the active outdoor activities that state of Colorado had to offer. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in November of 1956 and graduated from Denver East High School in 1960. After graduation, he attended Colorado State University where he joined Phi Kappa Tau and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Upon graduation, Russ was commissioned in the Air Force as a 2nd Lt and served his country proudly in Asia during the Vietnam War and in the Middle East during Desert Storm. While in the Air Force, he earned a master’s degree in Hospital Administration.
The U.S.
Russ loved watching sports – specifically the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies. He was an avid outdoorsman throughout his life, enjoying hunting, fishing, and camping. He had a great personality, a kind heart and made friends easily wherever he went.
Russ was preceded in death by his parents. He’s survived by his sister Ruth Lembke; his three children Sherill (Lembke) Farrell, Dana (Lembke) Benfield and Eric Lembke; and his six grandchildren Beth Farrell, Barrett Farrell, Brandt Benfield, Parker Benfield, Harper Lembke and Walker Lembke.
