Russell William Brooks, 81, of Anderson, passed away on June 19, 2017 at his residence in Anderson, IN.
He was born on January 23, 1936 in Markleville, Indiana to Elsie Dewitt Keevin and William “Willie” Henry Brooks. Russell attended Markleville High School Russell retired from Anderson School Corporation after 41 years as a grounds & maintenance worker, and retired from First Baptist Church as a custodian. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Anderson, and NRA.
Russell is survived by his loving wife, Julia “Judy” (Mitchell) Brooks of Anderson; 2 daughters, Kay (Bill) Day of Middletown, and Dawn Brooks of Muncie, 6 sons, William “Bud” Brooks of Surprise, AZ, Tim Brooks, Sr. of Peoria, IL, Vernon Leslie of Middletown, Joseph Brooks of Rockford, IL, Russell “Rusty” (Chris) Brooks of Tularosa, NM, and John (Tari) Hendricks of Anderson, brother, Donald “Don” (Jane) Keevin of Anderson; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Henry Brooks; mother, Elsie Keevin; step-father, Arnold ”Doc” Keevin; brother, James Brooks.
