Russell Lee Lawler, 63, Anderson, died September 28, 2009 at his residence in Anderson after an extended illness. He was born January 10, 1946 in Lafayette, and lived in this area for the past 22 years. Russell served with the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, whom he married May 28, 1989, Karen Heavilin Lawler; sons, Gordon Victor Lawler of Springfield, MO, James Simms, and Phillip & wife, Amy Simms, all of Anderson; brother, James Lawler of Lafayette; sister, Sharon Lawler of Lafayette; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix G. & Ovaline Vaughn Lawler and his stepfather, Victor Bowsher.
