Russell Russ J. Lewis, 61, passed away peacefully at the Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Hospital in Richmond, Virginia on December 23, 2023. He was the son of the late John Russell Lewis and Linda May Merrill of Pocatello, Idaho.He is survived by the love of his life, Linda Mae Lovell; stepmother, Gale Lewis; sisters, Claudette Miera (Mike), Lynnette Brown (Dan), Connie Sistrunk (Bob), Ruth Orr (Todd), GioVanna Geller (Michael), Shannon McNeal Merrill and brother, Allen Lewis (Janean).Russ was a proud Navy veteran. After the service, he worked for the government with the Integrated Logistics Overhaul Team at St. Julien’s Creek Annex in Portsmouth, Virginia as a computer technician for the east coast. Upon leaving civil service, he started his own business, Doggone Computers in Wakefield, VA. He also loved working with the crew at the Wakefield Peanut Company.Russ passion was the outdoors – hunting and fishing. He was an instructor for the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries Hunter Education Program where he taught hunting safety to a multitude of young students.
