Russell E. Snyder, 83, of Bethlehem died on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014 at Gracedale Nursing Home. He was the husband of Irene R. (Ritoper) Snyder, for 61 years. Born in Bethlehem on June 9, 1931, he was the son of the late Russell J. and Anna (Matus) Snyder. Russell honorably served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a truck driver for Moores Lumber Co., for many years, and also worked at the Bethlehem Steel, and the Central Hotel in Bethlehem. Russell was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bath and life member of the Salisbury Fire Co. and American Legion. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and enjoyed trips to the casino. Surviving: in addition to his loving wife, are daughter Deborah Snyder of Bethlehem; brother, John “Jack” Snyder of Bethlehem; nieces, Sandra Dunbar and husband Robert, Dr. Susan and husband Dr. Jeff Mathieu.
