Russell Arvine “Dude” Surface, 80, died Monday Oct. 5, 2015 in Indianapolis.
He was a resident of Greenwood and worked as a welder for Amtrak Rail Road and retired in 1995. He was member of the Transport Workers Union of America.
Dude was born March 12, 1935 to Stouthton and Fredia Surface in Indianapolis. He enjoyed fishing, boating, horseshoes, poker, woodworking and gardening. He loved going to Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Corene (Dewbrew) Surface of Greenwood, two daughters, Tammy (Amanda) Surface of Indianapolis and Cathy (Ivan) Loy of Rockville, sister, Dola Ott of Greenwood, two brothers, Willard (Barbara) Surface of Bargersville and Steve Surface of Greenwood, three grandchildren, Joshua (Darlene) Doss of West Bloomfield, Michigan, Jacob Doss of Indianapolis and Jessica Surface of Nineveh and three great-grandchildren, Louden and Garrett Doss and Justin Howell
He was preceded in death by his son, Russell Eugene “Rusty” Surface.
