Rudolph O. Schnalzer, 80, of Fountain Hill, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 18, 2007, in VNA Hospice of St. Luke’s in Lower Saucon Twp. He was the husband of Joan M. (Ryan) Schnalzer for 57 years. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late John and Cecelia (Schlener) Schnalzer. Rudy proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII. He was employed by the Bethlehem Steel Corp., as an Electrical Foreman for 34 years until retiring in 1982. He was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Bethlehem and it’s Prime Time Seniors. He was also a member of the Fountain Hill Golden Hillers and the Fountain Hill American Legion Post #406. Survivors: he will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joan at home; daughters Joan Szivos and her husband Tom of Whitehall, Marybeth Nowak and her husband Norman of Emmaus; sons John and his wife Janet of Center Valley, Robert and his wife Eileen of Idyllwild, Calif., Scott of Bethlehem, Mark and his wife Robin of Fountain Hill, Paul and his wife Allison of LaMesa, Calif.; sisters Cecelia Schnalzer of Bethlehem, Theresa Dorn and her husband Ken of Pittsburgh; brothers, Joseph and his wife Marion of Bethlehem, Edward and his wife Dolores of Lower Saucon Twp.; 14 grandchildren. He was predeceased by children James, Gerald and Diane; siblings Stella, Leo, Margaret and John.
