Rudolph B. Reading, age 90, of New Whiteland, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017, in Franklin.
He proudly served his country, in the Navy, during World War II and the Korean War. Rudy honorably served as a member of the Whiteland VFW Honor Guard Funeral Detail. He also volunteered at Johnson Memorial Hospital, in Franklin, for 18 years, Rudy served on the Planning Commission of New Whiteland and retired from the Schwitzer Corporation, in Indianapolis. He was also a member of New Whiteland Christian Church.
Rudy is survived by a daughter, Margaret (Larry) Lawmaster of Michigan, a sister Ernestine Hobbs of Auburn, a brother, Kenneth Reading of Arizona, and a grandson Harry Sering IV of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Lucille Reading and his parents, Claud J. and Ida O. (Schults) Reading.
