    Ruby Velma (Daffron) (Oxley) Devers long time resident of Muncie passed away Thursday, November 10, 2011. She was born July 5, 1924 in Monticello, Kentucky. 

The daughter of Homer Bryan and Lillie May (Eads) Daffron. Ruby in 1989 received the

Sagmore of the Wabash the highest award in the State of Indiana from Governor Evan Bayh. She graduated from New Castle High School. Ruby worked at Muncie Reclamation retiring after 26 years. She was a member of UAW Local 321, President for

17 years, Eagles Aux., American Legion 137 New Castle, Ladies Aux., VFW 1282, new Castle. Ruby was also active in the democrat party of Indiana. Ruby will be sadly missed by her friends amd relatives.

    Survivors include her husband of 54 years Joe (Skeet’s) Devers, her grandson Shane (wife-Nicole) Oxley, daughter-In-Law Carolyn Oxley and 2 great – grandchildren, her sister Bessie (Wilcox) Foresight of California, her sister Nancy Edwards of New Castle and Avon Park, Florida and sister Evelyn Jones of Elco, Neveda. Many nieces and nephews.

      Ruby was preceded in death her son Buddy Oxley, her parents Homer and Lillie

Daffron, her brothers Melvin, Alfred, Wilber and Orville, her sisters Reba Davenport, Ruth Helms and Lillie June (White) McGay.
