Mrs. Ruby Oveda Abercrombie Hester, 79, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, in Benbrook, Texas. Mrs. Hester was born in Lilly, GA.
She graduated from East Coweta High School in 1949 and Emmanuel College in 1951. Mrs. Hester lived in the Fort Worth area for 30 years and retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1995.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Thurman Hester. Surviving are daughters, Rhonda Hester of Benbrook, TX, and Drs. Laura Hester and husband Christopher Peterson and their children, Soren, Carsten, Maiya, Silja and Eva Peterson, of Fort Collins, Colo.; sister, Helon McDuffie of Forsyth, Ga.; brother, Charles Abercrombie and wife, Carolyn, of Newnan; numerous family members and friends; and beloved pets, Sam and Tut.
