In 1942 they moved into their home on First Avenue where they lived for the next 61 years. In 2003, they moved into Georgia Place in independent living. As the result of a fall, Mrs. Jackson had been under the care of Newnan Nursing and Rehabilitation for over a year. During the course of their 69 years of marriage, Ruby and Philip had four children. They are Philip Lee Jackson, James Madison Jackson, Marie Jackson Schall and Cathy Jackson Powell. She treasured her 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A woman of strong faith, she had been baptized at Glenloch Baptist Church in Heard County. After moving to Newnan, she transferred her membership in 1938 to Newnan First Baptist Church. Her church benefited from her love of children as she served in the nursery for many years. Her greatest joy in life was providing a loving home environment for her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
