Ruby E. Bell, 85, of Virginia, IL died Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, at Heritage Health in Beardstown.

She was born Oct. 21, 1936, in Lewistown, the daughter of Roscoe and Edith Tompkins Morris. She married Dale R. Bell on May 30, 1958, at Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church in rural Virginia and he survives.

She is also survived by three children, Alan (Crystal) Bell of Beardstown, and their children, Gabriel (Jody) Bell, Cassandra (Anthony) Riss and Caleb Bell (Cecilia Gamboa); Ronda Carmean of Arenzville, and her children, Lt. Col. Doug (Courtney) Carmean and Lucas (Rachael) Carmean; and Danny ( Kina Albert-Bell) Bell of Tempe, AZ, and their children, Shannon Bell, Imenda Albert and Howard (Rita) Albert; nineteen great grandchildren, Owen, Parker, and Payton McCoy, Parker Bell, Sawyer Riss, Alan and Brandon Gamboa, Lenora Bell, Mackenzie and Jackson Carmean, Everson, Evonie and Georgie Carmean, Jeremiah Hartman, and Imari, Trinity, Dayson, Jacob and James Albert; one brother, Bernie (wife, Gloria) Morris of Bend, OR; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and six brothers and two sisters, Paul Morris, Jim Morris, Asa Morris, Ruth Morris, Raymond Morris, Eugene Morris, Rosco Morris, Jr. and Barbara Bell (surviving husband, Frank of Virginia).

Ruby was a 1954 graduate of Chandlerville High School. She worked as head cook in the cafeteria at Virginia School for twenty years. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was well known for her homemade noodles and world-famous cinnamon rolls. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
