Ruben G. Trevino Sr., 85, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in Harlingen, Texas.
He was born on December 6, 1930 to Jose Concepcion Trevino Martinez and Maria Antonia Garza de Trevino.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Concepcion Trevino Martinez and Maria Antonia Garza de Trevino, his sisters, Blanca Trevino Islas, Concepcion (Concha) Trevino Gamez, and Delicia Trevino Montecinos, and his uncle Doroteo Garza.
Ruben is survived by his wife, Eloisa Tijerina Trevino, and his children, Graciela Trevino Avila (Uvaldo Leiva), Yolanda Trevino Mares (“AC”), Ruben Trevino, Jr. (Soyla), and Rodolfo Trevino; brother, Jose Guadalupe Trevino; sisters, Nora Elia Trevino, Sylvia Trevino Luna & Diana Trevino Shannahan; grandchildren, Roxanne Mares, Humberto Avila, Jr., Isidro Mares, Jr., Rodolfo “TJ” Trevino, Jr., Michael A. Trevino, Christopher “Bam Bam” Trevino, Romelo “Romy” Trevino, and R.C. Saldivar (honorary); and great grandchildren, Sydney Renae Mares, Anissa Vianey Avila, and Julian Jesus “JJ” Avila.
A sincere thank you to his caregiver Dora Taylor, the staff at Bee First Hospice and to all the medical providers that contributed to his care. Also a special thanks to his lifetime friends Daniel and Lupina Martinez and family.
