Ruben attended Commodore Stockton Skill School, Hamilton Middle School, and graduated from Edison High School. He found his first love and passion playing Pop Warner football becoming an instant sensation and one of the community’s favorite young athletes. He was a two sport athlete in High School where he dominated the football field and track earning the name Action Jackson. He moved on to attend San Francisco City College where he participated in football becoming a two-time All-American athlete as well as a two-time Junior College State Champion.
