Roy W. Giacomelli, 91, of Ladd passed away at 5:57 PM on March 23, 2016 in St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.
Mr. Giacomelli was born at home in Ladd on December 5, 1924 to Jerome and Pearl (Muratori) Giacomelli. He served with the US Army Air Corp. He married Edna Meyer on June 7, 1951. He worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for over 36 years and retired in 1984. Roy was a member of the Ladd Fire Department, Ladd American Legion, Knights of Columbus Spring Valley, St.
Mr. Giacomelli is survived by his daughter Lynne (Richard) Ouellette of Geneva, two sons Roy Giacomelli Jr. of Ladd and Gary (Cristine) Giacomelli of Springfield, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Edna on March 13, 2013; two sisters Bertha Giacomelli and Genevieve Jane; three brothers Geno, Ado, and Ronald Giacomelli.
