Roy “Hink” Henderson Marbry, 74, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

Hink was born March 31, 1947 in Albemarle to the late Roy Malcolm Marbry and the late Bernice Corinna Furr Marbry.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Joan Carol Marbry Best.

He is survived by his daughter, Misty Paige of Oakboro; son, Adrian (Amber) Marbry of Charlotte; grandchildren, Grayson and Cooper Marbry, and Kaylee and Addie Helms; siblings, Paulette Marbry and David (Doris) Marbry; niece, Ellen Pendola; and ex-wife, Teresa Lowder.

Hink was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He honorably served his country in the United States Army, 8th Airborne Division, serving in the Vietnam War. He worked as a brick mason after his military service. In 1978, he opened up Hink’s Grill, which he proudly owned and operated with his family for over 30 years.  After retirement, he worked at the Stanly Co Airport, helping with grounds maintenance. Hink enjoyed many years of golfing, flying, helping with Albemarle HS Football program, and many trips to Las Vegas. As his health declined later in life, he enjoyed his time with friends and staff at The Blake. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of the Blake at Baxter Village for all the special memories and loving care they shared.
