Obituary of Roy H. Riles
Mr. Riles, a retired police officer with the Bastrop Police Department and charter member of Antioch Baptist Church, died Saturday, June 25, 2005 at Oak Woods Home in Mer Rouge. He was a member of the Crossett Masonic Lodge and served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Flossie Griffis Riles; two daughters, Betty Brown and husband Allen of Bastrop, Clara Mallory and husband Dan of Bossier City; son, Roy E. Riles and wife Laura of Bastrop; six sisters, Elizabeth Palenik, Lavada Rich, Geneva Martin all of Bastrop, Nancy Rickman of Hamburg, AR, Virgie Dees of Nachitoches, LA, Merlyn Kouw of Michigan; six grandchildren, Rodney Riles, Regina Carroll, Angie Morris, Allen Brown, Jr., Doug Malloy, Jennifer Dietrich and twelve great grandchildren.
Mr. Riles is preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Mabel Riles; brothers, Lonnie, H.C. “Buster” and James Riles and a sister, Marie Montgomery.
