Roy A. Ward, 71, passed away Friday May 2, 2014 in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.

Roy was born July 18, 1942 in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He married Dorothy McKinney on July 14, 1962 in Kentucky; they were married for 51 years.

He worked for G.S.C in Indianapolis for 15 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He served in the Army for three years during the Vietnam Era at Ft. Sill in Oklahoma. He worked as a maintenance E5 on the Pershing Missile System.He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger days. He loved his family, grandkids, nieces and nephews and spending time with all of them. He was a member of the Amity Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee. Roy will be truly missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (McKinney) Ward of Franklin, his mother, Mary (Keller) Ward of Camby, a son, Roy E. Ward of Franklin, three brothers, Darrell (Pam) Ward of Florida, DeWayne (Sherry) Ward of Mooresville and Denis (Marcia) Ward of Danville, son-in-law, Greg Weber of Osgood and two grandchildren, Nathan Weber and Makayla Weber.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Eugene Ward and a daughter, Kimberly Weber.
