Rosina Agnes Sacks Bierbaum, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, died peacefully on November 12, 2014, eight days before her 96th birthday. She joins her beloved husband, Herman, who departed this life on July 30th. Rosina is lovingly remembered for her deep devotion to her family and to her church. Rosina was born November 20, 1918 in Coplay, PA, to Michael Sacks and Rosina Keppel. She excelled in her academic work, and graduated as valedictorian from Coplay High School in 1936. Rosina earned Varsity Letters for both Basketball and Debate Teams; these achievements reflected her competitive spirit, and her family lovingly teased that she never lost an argument in her life. Rosina graduated from Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1940, again with highest academic honors. She worked in the operating room for five years, and remembered this time as both challenging and extremely rewarding. Rosina met her future husband, Herman Bierbaum, while serving as his nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital.
