Rosia Mary Buhlig, 66, of Meredosia, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
She was born July 15, 1946, in Meredosia, the daughter of Robert and Lena Surratt Edlen. She married Michael Roger Buhlig on Apr. 18, 1964, in Jacksonville and he preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 1996.
She is survived by six children, Roger (Rebecca) Buhlig of Jacksonville, Marissa Buhlig of Meredosia, Clarissa Buhlig of Springfield, and Dana Buhlig (Joseph Place), Rana (Jason) Garrett and Kyla Buhlig (Kevin Usher), all of Jacksonville; five grandchildren, Dareon Buhlig, Olivia Garrett, Jessica Buhlig, Brendan Garrett and Addison Garrett; two sisters, Bonnie Smith and Doris Charles, and one brother, Larry Edlen, all of Meredosia. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Shawn Aaron Buhlig in infancy; and one sister, Barbara Newman.
Mrs. Buhlig was a 1964 graduate of Meredosia High School. She was an avid Cardinals fan, and enjoyed shopping, fishing, yard sales and playing bingo and the lottery. Rosia loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
