Rosemary Terpening, 91, of Galesburg, died at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2017, in Seminary Manor, Galesburg. Rosemary was born September 2, 1926, in Streator, the daughter of George and Ethel (McDonald) Sabol.  She married E. Dale Terpening in Palmyra, MO.

He preceded her in death on June 24, 2004. Rosemary is survived by her pride and joy, two granddaughters, Gina (Orlee) Lucero and Laura (Chris) Oestreicher both of Galesburg; as well as six grandchildren, Taylor, Ashton, and Joey Lucero, Christopher, Megan, and Kate Oestreicher. She is also survived by one brother and one sister.

Along with her husband and parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Peck on May 28, 2017, and one sister. Rosemary attended Galesburg Schools and Brown’s Business College. She worked at the former Hotel Custer and Montgomery Ward’s for several years and spent the last almost 30 years at Hy-Vee in Galesburg.

Rosemary was a devout Catholic and longtime member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a very active parent and PTO member at St. Joseph’s Academy and Corpus Christi High School in Galesburg. She spent many years attending all the events of her granddaughters and great-grandchildren. Rosemary was also very active in St. Vincent DePaul. She loved spending time in her garden and tending to flowers. Rosemary was always the life of the party and loved to dance.
