Rosemary Raichlen Griffith was born November 27, 1920 in Orchard Park, NY; daughter of Frank Raichlen and Winifred Rose Taylor. Her early years were spent in Mamaroneck, NY where she excelled academically in Catholic school and New Rochelle College. Rosemary married Byron Earl Griffith “Jack” in April of 1942. They moved to Atlanta where they partnered with one of Jack’s Army buddies in a plumbing business. Rosemary was marketer and bookkeeper for the business. In 1953 Rosemary and Jack bought the Pepsi bottling business in Newnan, GA. There they raised their 5 children while enjoying volunteering and an active social life. In addition to tending her brood, Rosemary loved cooking, entertaining, and interior design. Her outreach activities included Meals on Wheels, Friends of the River and SAVE. Rosemary inherited a love of classical music, philosophy and politics from her father that kept her involved and busy throughout her life. Rosemary’s children feel fortunate that they have been able to cherish her life of 90 years. She passed along her thirst for knowledge and delight in the beauty of God’s world.
