Rose Teresa Tranchina Costa, 101 years, of Jackson, NJ passed on Thursday October 20, 2016 at the Bartley Healthcare Nursing & Rehab, in Jackson. Rose was born to Philip and Anna Carulli Tranchina in Brooklyn, NY in 1914, and was a sister to Anthony & Victor Tranchina, now deceased, and her surviving sister Marge Tranchina DiBenedetto, of Forked River, NJ. Rose was an accomplished seamstress for several clothing manufacturers in Brooklyn where she resided for many years.
Rose married Anthony Costa in Brooklyn, started their family and moved to Jackson, NJ in 1949. Rose was a devoted parishioner of St. Aloyisius R.C. Church. Rose was pre-deceased by her husband, Anthony in 1979 and son-in-law Joseph Castelli in 2016, and is survived by her son Michael and daughter in-law Estella Costa of Jackson, her daughter Camille Castelli of Staten Island, NY, her sister Margaret DiBenedetto of Forked River, and her grandchildren Stephen & Joseph Castelli, Jr. in Staten Island, and Anthony & Diana Costa of Old Bridge, NJ.
