Rose S. Torok, 95, of Riveridge Manor in Niles, Michigan, formerly of N. Johnson Street in South Bend, Indiana, passed away, Sunday, August 14, 2005, at Lakeland Hospital in Niles. Rose was born on October 1, 1909, in Benton Township, Michigan to Casper and Anna (Schneider) Mahka. On June 2, 1934, Rose married Alex J. Torok who preceded her in death on January 6, 1963.
Surviving are nieces, Suzanne (David) Orlaske of St. Joseph, Michigan, Kathy (Bob) Whalen of Muskegon, Michigan, Judy (Ed) Miller of St. Joseph, Michigan; nephews, Ron Mahka of Albuquerque, New Mexico, John (Annette) Teachout of St. Joseph, Michigan, Frank Teachout of Tucson, Arizona; many great nieces and nephews; and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Mahka of St. Joseph, Michigan.
Rose was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in South Bend, Indiana, the Helena Rebekah Lodge # 72, where she was made a life member in 2001, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Canton # 9 in South Bend.
