Rose Marie (Picciolo) Zomboracz, 97, of Oglesby, passed away Monday evening, July 5, 2021 at St. Margaret’s Health, Peru.
Rose was born August 14, 1923 in Joliet to Matteo and Maria (Brandalino) Picciolo. She was a graduate of Joliet Central High School.
Rose married William H. “Bud” Zomboracz Sr. on July 14, 1946 at the Catholic Church of St. Anthony in Joliet. She worked at JCPenny as a bookkeeper and worked part-time at Supreme Dairy in Oglesby.
Rose was an avid Cubs fan, loved making caramels, and playing bingo. She was very proud and loved her family. Rose served her community as the first female commissioner of Oglesby and LaSalle Township Trustee.
Survivors include her children, Bradley (Cathy) Zomboracz of Pipestone, MN, Bud (Jane) Zomboracz of Waukesha, WI, and Toni (Mike) Kilmartin of Mendota; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren, with another expected in September and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud on February 3, 1981; a son, Robert on July 6, 2018; brothers, Bill, Chuck, Joe, John, Tony, and Frank Picciolo; sisters, Angela DiMonte and Mary DelRose.
