Rose Gamble, 82, passed away on February 28, 2015 in Willow Spring Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Brick, New Jersey.  She was born on April 26, 1932 in Union, South Carolina.

She was the youngest daughter of the now deceased State Gist and Willie Johnson Gist.  Rose lived in Kelton with her parents, three sisters and three brothers until the early 50’s when she relocated to Whiting, NJ.  She had accompanied her older sister, Mary Gist, and family during her brother-in-law James Gist’s tour of duty in Korea.

Rose lived on a farm in Forked River, New Jersey, with her husband, Charles Gamble, and parented three sons together.  She later adopted a son, Matthew, following her divorce, while living in Lakehurst, NJ.

She was employed at Allen’s Manufacturing in Whiting, NJ, Lakehurst Naval Base, and she also worked in Lacey Township for many years.  Rose was a member of Community Baptist Church, in Beckerville, NJ, and she later joined Harmony Ministries and remained a member until her demise. She became disabled in 2012 and remained so until she passed away this year. 

She is predeceased by her siblings, Lizzie Wright, Thomas Ruth, Rosevelt Gist, and Eugene Johnson. 

She leaves behind to mourn her passing four sons, Charles, Chris, Rodney, and Matthew; daughter in law, Toni; two sisters, Mary Gist of Trenton, NJ, and Bessie Meadows of Columbia, SC; ten grandchildren, Charles Jeffrey Gamble, Lamar James Gamble, Jordan Alexander Gamble, Yasmain Gamble, Jelahan Gamble, Damont Gamble, York Gamble, Rodney Morrison, Aaliyah Gamble, Zaniya Gamble; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, friends, and acquaintances.
