Rose Lee Herren Compton age 84 of Heber Springs passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at her residence. Born July 7, 1932 in Midridge, Missouri , she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Racie Bunch Herren. Before retirement Rose worked at Cleburne County Hospital in the kitchen. She was of the Baptist faith.
Her hobbies included working crossword puzzles, cooking, taking care of her family, she was a home engineer, bird watching and she especially loved going to yard sales.
She was preceded in death by three daughters, Patricia Ann Chitwood, Deborah Kay Briggs and Dana Kay Rodgers; a grandson Geddy Rodgers and a great grandson Titus Compton.
Rose is survived by her husband Telford Ray Compton whom she married February 17, 1967; six sons Gary Lynn Chitwood (Mary) of Homer, Georgia, Robert Dwight Chitwood of St. Clair, Missouri, David Ray Compton (Tracey Spriggs) of Annadale, New Jersey, Danny J. Compton of St. Louis, Missouri, Douglas Day Compton (Mary) of Centerton, Arkansas and Dennis Lay Compton of Rogers, Arkansas; one daughter Donna Faye Miller (Andy) of House Springs, Missouri; one brother Charles Herren (Phyllis) of Farmington, Missouri; three sisters, Tina Schroder of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, Viola Rackley of Missouri and Rettie Brawley of Ellington, Missouri; 23 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and many many friends.
