Uniroyal Retiree Prospect – Mrs. Rose Bessie (Colarusso) Mirabelle, age 99, died Monday, September 7, 2015 at Beacon Brook Health Care Center in Naugatuck surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Dominick Mirabelle, Sr. and they were happily married for 61 years. Rose was very devoted to her husband and family. Rose was born August 7, 1916 in Yatesville, PA a daughter of the late Ralph and Rose (Pisano) Colarusso. She grew up in Yatesville. After the death of her father, Rose left school to work in a dress factory to help support her family. She married Dominick and as jobs were scarce in Pennsylvania she and Dominick moved to Waterbury in 1941. Rose was a long-time Yankee fan and especially liked Mickey Mantle. She was a member of the Prospect Senior Center and loved bowling, knitting, crocheting and sewing. Rose was also an Elvis fan and enjoyed listening to his music right up to the time of her passing. Rose was a bright spot in the lives of those who knew her at Beacon Brook as she would sing her favorite songs at any moment of the day. She loved to hug and kiss the Aides and Nurses. It was her way of saying thanks. Rose loved to do jig-saw puzzles and played Bananagrams with the other residents. Rose is survived by her daughter: Marian Colangelo and her husband Anthony, sons: Paul Mirabelle and his wife Margaret and Dominik Mirabelle, Jr. and his wife Paula;
Grandchildren: Rosanne Colangelo Rehr, Donna Colangelo, Steven Colangelo, Paul Mirabelle, Jr., Leah Mirabelle, Anthony Mirabelle, Dominick Mirabelle and Louis Mirabelle, Great Grandchildren: Allison Rehr, Christine Rehr, and Jada Mirabelle, and her sister; Jessie Colarusso Gardner and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She had many friends at Beacon Brook especially: Florence, Rachael, Mary, Carmella, Hilda, Isabel, Laura, Sylvia, Rita, Christine, Angelina, Raffael, Andreis, Augie, Sam and Vinnie. Rose was predeceased by sisters: Carmella Colarusso Butafulco, Sarah Colarusso, Frances Ferretti Campanella and Cecilia Colarusso and brothers: Anthony Colarusso, Louis Colarusso and Ralph Colarusso. The family would like to thank the staff at Beacon Brook for their compassion and care given to Rose during her time there, and also the Waterbury Hospital ER and Telemetry Departments.
