Rosalene Fordyce, age 82, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Wednesday, November 2, 2016 in her residence in the peace and comfort of her family.

She was born March 7, 1934 in Calvin Township, Michigan to Casper Pompey and Zarah (Rickman) Calloway. She married James Jacob Fordyce September 2, 1999 in Cassopolis, Michigan. He survives. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Terry Kay Green; one sister, Flossie Mae Monticue; and one brother, Charles Pompey.

Rose had a lot of hobbies, including ceramics. Although she was modest, she enjoyed dressing well and looking dignified. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Rose was a Pioneer for the Kingdom ministry. Her sisters remember her for her kindness, caring more for others than for herself. She always put other people first. Even when Rose was suffering, she endured the pain and discomfort of her illness with grace and dignity. Rosalene will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James Fordyce of Cassopolis; three sons, John (Debbie) Anderson, Jr., Andy Gene (Nancy) Anderson, Robin Anderson; seventeen grandchildren; thirty four great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; five sisters, Thelma (Willie) Rockett, Dixie (Solomon) Johnson, Violet Barber, Patricia Aloisio, Linda (Robert) Collins; two brothers, Leonard Pompey, Leroy Kinnison; and a host of nieces and nephews.
