Mrs. Rosalee “Rita” Gerhardt, 87, of Chicago, IL, formerly a resident of Ferndale for 50 years, passed away on May 26, 2010 at her daughters home. Rita was born in Davis, WV in 1923 to the late Albert and Cora Helmick. She was a bookkeeper for a painting company. Rita served in the US Army from 1943-1946. She was a member of the VFW Post 2916 in Curtis Bay.
