Rosa Q. Montenegro, resident of Brightview Care Center and formerly living at Victory Center, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. She was born on November 8th, 1920 in El Salvador. She moved to Guatemala at a young age and spent most of her life there. She came to Chicago in 1978 to be closer to her family. Her son, Jorge Montenegro preceded her in death on March 25, 1997. She happily became a citizen of the United States of America. A devout Christian, she attended Ministerio Haziel in Chicago. She was the beloved mother of the late Jorge and Hildegarda (nee Mendoza) Montenegro; treasured grandmother of Marvin and Jessica (nee Schiller) Montenegro; cherished great-grandmother of Julius and Karolina Montenegro; and caring friend to many.
