Ronnie “Gene” McAlpin, age 59, of Marianna passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2008 at his home. He was a lifetime resident of Marianna and was of the Holiness faith. Mr. McAlpin loved his family and spent his leisure time in his vegetable garden. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.B. and Ellafair McAlpin , an infant son, and his brother L.B. McAlpin, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Dale McAlpin, sons; Kevin Gene McAlpin and wife Rhonda Jo, Jimmy Gene McAlpin and Anthony Gene McAlpin all of Altha, brothers; Jack McAlpin and wife Janice, Ricky McAlpin and wife, Anna of Marianna, Larry McAlpin and wife, Cindy of Andalusia, Al, Darrell McAlpin, Sharrell McAlpin, Wayne McAlpin,and Harold McAlpin and wife Ellen all of Marianna, sister, Elouise Ablia and Dianne O’Bryan of Marianna, Anita McClendon and husband, Roger of Altha, Brother and sister in laws; Wayne Rogers and Harold Rogers and wife Ellen of Marianna, Donnie Rogers and wife Martha Jo of Cypress, Connie Rogers of Crystal River, Vivian Canndy of Fort Gaines, Ga, Betty Harrison of Roswell, Ga and Linda Osbourne of Greenwood, seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
