Ronnie Lawrence Hampton was born on October 8, 1957 in Los Angeles, CA to Ella S. Hudson and Oscar Hampton who preceded him in death. He was one of four children.
Ronnie attended Robbins Memorial Church of God in Christ and was a member of the Sunday School and the Sunshine Band. Ronnie attended Los Angeles Public Schools and graduated in 1975 from Manuel Arts High School.
Ronnie served his country as a soldier in the United States Army from November 25, 1980 until September 22, 1992 when he received his honorable discharge. He married Judith Miriam Wade on August 21, 1984 and to this union there are two children.
Ronnie loved sports especially football and he often participated in many games until he was no longer able.
Ronnie Lawrence Hampton is survived by: his wife, Judith Hampton; two daughters Laquwietitia P. Hampton and Dominique A. Hampton; his mother, Ella S. Chiles (William) of Compton, CA; three sisters, Evelyn Britt of Hawthorne, CA, Sonya Thomas (Guy) of Los Angeles, CA and Diane Collins of Dallas, TX; one aunt, Evangelist Betty Hudson, Los Angeles, CA; one uncle, Lonnie Nelson, Los Angeles, CA and Joe Hudson (deceased); father and mother-in-law, Rolfe Wade (Miriam) of Baltimore, MD; three sisters-in-law of Baltimore, MD, Donna Wade, Phyllis Hudson (David) and Lisa Newsome; church mother Janie Nixon and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
