Ronald W. Moss, 59, of South Amherst, departed this life on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Mercy Health Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a sudden illness. He was born March 23, 1962 in Elyria and was a long-time resident of South Amherst.
Though challenged since birth with cerebral palsy and other limitations, Ron proudly graduated from Lincoln West High School in Cleveland in 1984. Afterward he spent several years working through the Murray Ridge Oberlin Workshop in meaningful capacities that made him feel valued and that provided the social opportunities he craved and enjoyed. Fiercely independent and never wanting pity, at the height of his capabilities Ron navigated a large power wheelchair in his work and in his life using customized headgear, and he cherished that capability and the independence it afforded him.
Ron is survived by his brother Daniel and sister-in-law Kelli of Amherst, and his nephews Nathan Moss of Westlake and James Moss of Amherst.
