Ronald T. Florence, 73, of Greensburg, passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, at Excela Westmoreland Hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1947, in Greensburg, son of the late Thomas and Clara (Fleming) Florence. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Elliott Company in Jeannette for 42 years. He was an avid golfer and liked going to casinos. Ron was an Army Reserve veteran. In February 2018, Ron received a kidney transplant, thanks to the kindness and generosity of his brother-in-law, Raymond Wirick. We are eternally grateful to Ray for this gift. Ron is survived by his caring and devoted partner, Beth Allwine, of Greensburg. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Wirick and husband, Raymond, of Gainsville, Va.; nephew, Brian Wirick and wife, Constance; niece, Heather Richards and husband, Joshua; and great-nephews, Brian, Jr., Jacob, Noah and Eli, all of Virginia. Ron is also survived by his very special extended family that includes Deborah Allwine and Bernard North, their children, Robert North and Dr. Angela North; Gary Allwine; and Mildred Allwine. He is also survived by several cousins.
