Ronald Schweickert, 78, of LaSalle, passed away September 1, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Mr. Schweickert was born on October 21, 1937 in Peru to Cletus and Marie (Przygoda) Schweickert. Ron served in the US Army and was a bricklayer with Bricklayers Union Local #6 for more than 40 years. He married Dorothea “Dottie” Scanlan on September 11, 1971 in St. Joseph’s Church in LaSalle. He was a member of St. Hyacinth’s Church in LaSalle and Bricklayers Union Local #6.
He is survived by his wife Dottie of LaSalle and one son, Michael of LaSalle; 10 brothers and sisters, Jeanette (Wayne) Gibson of Sylvania, Ohio, Lorrayne (Hank) Vaughn of Hinsdale, George (Shirley) Schweickert of LaSalle, Lois (Ken) Thomas of Chicago, Judith (Allan) Gorgal of Moline, Carol (Ben) Clay of Fort Wayne, IN, David (Jackie) Schweickert of Peru, Thomas Schweickert of Peru, Richard Schweickert of Peru and Michael (Nadine) Schweickert of Oglesby and sister-in-law, Rose Schweickert of Peru.
He was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Schweickert; his parents; two sisters, Mary Lou Mazzorana and JoAnn Kelly; and two brothers, Cletus Schweickert and Robert Schweickert.
