Ronald L. “Ron” Fager, 74, of Elkhart, went home peacefully to be with the Lord Sunday morning, Oct. 13, 2013, in his residence after a battle with cancer. Jan. 1, 1939 – Oct. 13, 2013 He was born Jan. 1, 1939, to Walter and Hazel (Carpenter) Fager.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Barbara; four daughters, Pamela (William) Wright, Janet Fager, Sharren (Brian) Popenfoose and Karen (Kevin) Carlock; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy Gurka of Goshen.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Charles, Roy and George Fager. Ron worked at NIBCO Inc. for more than 35 years and at Tri-State Protection for 14 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Ronald was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He loved his family and the outdoors, and was always busy helping someone in need.
