Ronald Kenneth “Ron” Hunt, Sr, 76, of Huntsville, MO passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022.
He was born September 19, 1945, in Huntsville, MO, to the union of Kenneth and Emmalee (Pogue) Hunt.
He married Nikki Lewis, April 19, 1967, in Kansas City, MO and she preceded him in death March 22,1993, also preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Sharon Furbee.
Survivors include his three children, Ronald “Ronnie” Hunt, Jr. and his wife Carol, Jennifer Hunt and Morris Wallace, and Heather Dennis and her husband Dwayne, all of Huntsville; a brother, Gary Hunt of Moberly; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Ron was a lifetime member of the Huntsville Christian Church where he and his late wife, Nikki, raised their children. He taught his children and grandchildren his love of the outdoors and hunting. He spent his final days in the mountains of Colorado on his annual hunting trip doing what he loved. The one thing he loved more than hunting was his grandchildren. He was their number one fan and spent countless hours driving them to and from practices, games, events, tournaments, and school functions. He supported, encouraged, and offered constructive criticism to push them to be the very best they could be. Anyone who knew Ron, knew he was a big fan of all things food. He loved to cook for his family and friends and share pictures of his meals on Facebook. In the words of Ol’ Ron “life is short, eat dessert first.”
