Ronald Joseph Dean of Scottsdale, 69, passed away peacefully June 5th. He is survived by his adoring wife of 44 years, LuAnne, his three daughters, Traci Martin (husband John), Tricia Bankey (husband Jason), and Tami Smith (husband Bryan), 10 grandchildren, mother Gloria Dean, sister Pam Spencer, and brother Bill Dean. Ron served in the Marine Corps for 5 years including two tours in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged with a ranking of Sergeant. Ron was a Chicago native, moving to Scottsdale in 1966 and joining the Scottsdale Police Department a year later. He retired in 1988 as a Lieutenant. Ron was Town Marshall of Fountain Hills for 5 years. His other affiliations/accomplishments include membership in the Blue Knights, member of Maricopa County Sheriff’s Posse, VFW #3513 Post Commander and American Legion #44. His favorite hobbies were riding his Harley, reading westerns, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
