Ronald J. “Ski” Twardowski, 66, a resident of the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle, formerly of Peru, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018. Mr. Twardowski was born December 15, 1951 in LaSalle to Harry and Katherine “Cassie” (Mueller) Twardowski. Mr. Twardowski was a graduate of St. Joseph’s School, class of 1966 and St. Bede Academy, class of 1970. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in reconnaissance and achieving the rank of lance corporal. He was a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Church in Peru and was a member of the Peru Rescue Station. He had been employed at Sunstrand and later at Mobil Chemical.
In earlier years, he was an active outdoorsman, enjoying canoeing, rock climbing and camping and he especially loved to fish. Survivors include his former wife, Marla (Bill) Repsel of LaSalle; his son, Kevin (Brittany) Twardowski of Peru; his step-son, Carl Bekeleski of LaSalle; two brothers, Michael (Jody) Twardowski of Canyon, MN and William “Bill” (Eileen) Twardowski of Peru and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Rita Twardowski in infancy and one nephew, Michael William Twardowski.
