Mr. Hixon was born in Milford, a son of the late William C. and Marguerite E. (Moore) Hixon. He was a machinist with Fenwal in Ashland for 26 years, retiring in 1998.
In addition to his wife, he leaves one son, Barry T. Hixon and his wife Donna of Upton; a daughter, Doreen L. Hixon Hall and her fiancé Steven Parker of Whitinsville; three grandchildren, Amanda Hall of Millbury, Danielle Hall of Sutton, and Nathan Hixon of Upton; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late William C. “Chet” Hixon, Peggy Lambert, and Eleanor Bosket.
